Setting up Groups

Groups in Mailer Lite are individual lists you create to help organize your contacts. Using groups allows you to target your emails to a smaller list of subscribers based on their interests. Groups are often referred to as tags, lists or audiences in other email marketing platforms. Whenever you create a form, landing page, website or schedule a campaign, you will be asked to select the target group.

When using Direxact, we recommend you setup a Group for every Community, whether private or public, you have in your platform. This allows you to target users based on what community they belong to.

Of course, this isn't the only way you can use Groups but it's the one we imagine would serve you better.

Other ways you can use Groups are:

  • Onboarding - sends the initial bunch of emails to new users.

  • Waitlist - send update emails to users on a waitlist.

  • Paying vs Non-Paid Customers - send emails based on whether an users have an active paying subscription or not.

  • Language - target users based on their preferred language.

  • Location - target customers based on their location, whether it's city, state/region or country.

  • Re-engage - send emails to inactive users.

Here are the step-by-step instructions for setting up groups in Mailer Lite:

  1. Navigate to the Subscribers page.

  2. Click on the Groups tab.
